BOTANICALS

Early botanical drawings were purposeful. They assisted the searcher in identifying plants for medicines. By concentrating on the forms and structures of a botanical specimen, and thinking of these in relationship to the plant (and the page) as a whole, botanical drawing is a discipline that grounds my work in the perceptual world.
